On February 25, 2026, journalist Yevhen Plinsky reported on the seizure of contraband equipment in the logistics centers of the Yabko chain of stores in the Lviv region. The following day, the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) confirmed this, without denying that this particular chain of electronics stores was involved.
According to court documents, on December 1, 2025, the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) in the Lviv region initiated a pre-trial investigation under two articles of the Criminal Code: Part 1, Article 201-3 — smuggling (moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine outside customs control or with concealment from customs control) and Part 2, Article 212 — intentional evasion of taxes and fees.
The investigation established that in the period 2024-2025, the owners of the YABKO network (Specialtech LLC, West Yuei LLC) used a scheme consisting in using the simplified taxation system and individual entrepreneurs in order to evade taxes on the sale of goods and materials in Ukraine.
During February 19-21, 2026, BEB detectives conducted searches and seized property as physical evidence from warehouses and office premises. Then, the Lychakivskyi District Court of Lviv imposed an arrest on him. There are approximately 20 such decisions in the court register, all of them belong to case No. 463/1338/26.
The searches took place in the main Lviv office of Yabko at 6 Danylyshyna St., where the main trading company of the group, Speshltech LLC, is registered, writes the Lviv publication ZAXID.NET. The searches were also carried out in other offices of the group and premises and buildings related to the business - in particular, in the Magnus Shopping Center, in the Rius Hotel, in office centers on Lemkivska, Sadova, Zamarstynivska St., and on Chornovola Avenue in Lviv.

In another office, at Lemkivska Street, 139 pieces of equipment were seized , including more than 100 MacBooks and iPads. The February 26, 2026, ruling states that the property was seized, including both used and new equipment — a total of 245 items on the list. However, it is noted that 88 Apple gadgets were in the box.
In addition to Apple equipment, many products from other manufacturers were seized. For example, in Proceedings No. 1-кс/463/2050/2, the list of property consists of 2,382 items. Among the seized items are household appliances (TVs, multi-ovens, grills, vacuum cleaners and robot vacuum cleaners, toasters and kettles), as well as laptops, smartwatches, printers and 3D printers. In addition, there is a lot of gaming equipment: Microsoft Xbox gamepads, Dualense for Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch game consoles, gaming headphones, etc. Also among the seized items are Meta Quest 3S virtual reality headsets and Ray-Ban smart glasses. In total, approximately 2,654 items of goods from the brands Philips, Tefal, Ninja, SMEG, Dreame, Samsung, PIXMA, EPSON, Canon and others were seized.
A similar variety of equipment and brands is observed in other decisions. For example, Proceeding No. 1-кс/463/2049/26 refers to the seizure of over 570 units of equipment.
The goods were also seized in the city of Novoyavorivsk, Lviv region. There are 149 units on the list.
Another document states that property was seized at 120 Zamarstynivska Street (also Lviv), including mostly protective glass of various brands for various gadgets — over 48,000 pieces.
As of today, the Bureau of Economic Security has not officially provided an estimate of the seized assets. “Final amounts are still being determined,” the BEB reported on February 26.
