The facility’s capacity is 50 MW, and it is designed for 2,880 server racks.
Vladimir Region Governor Alexander Avdeev confirmed that drones attacked infrastructure in the suburbs of Vladimir. A fire broke out after the strike, and 5,000 residents were left without electricity due to the shutdown of two substations. They promise to restore power supply under a backup scheme when the threat passes.

Which services were affected?
Russians are massively complaining about service failures.
The outage affected ru-central1-a availability zone of the Yandex Cloud platform. It experienced power outages, which made part of the cloud infrastructure unavailable. Among the affected services are Yandex Home, Yandex Music, and Telemost. Other Yandex Cloud components used by companies and developers were also affected.
The company warned customers that the platform’s available resources remain unstable and its operation is in emergency mode. Users were advised to use alternative disaster recovery plans.
According to monitoring channels, the outage was related to a drone attack on a data center in Vladimir. However, Yandex’s statement about the power outage did not specify the immediate cause.
This is not the first time Yandex’s data center has been damaged.
In early October, problems also arose at other sites of the company. On the night of October 8, a drone attack damaged a data center in Sasov, Ryazan Region. A fire broke out there, after which the facility’s operations were completely stopped.
On October 9, Yandex also reported an attack on its data center in Kaluga, causing part of its infrastructure to fail. The company said it was assessing the damage and that the timing of full equipment restoration was not yet known.
Data centers provide not only the company’s consumer services, but also the cloud infrastructure on which customers host their applications, databases, and other digital resources.
