The "Diya" application is launching a new service for drivers — a digital Europrotocol, which allows you to register a traffic accident without calling the patrol police and filling out paper forms.
This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Oksana Ferchuk. According to her, the new functionality is designed to simplify the procedure and reduce the time for processing minor accidents to a few minutes.
To use the service, both participants in the accident must have the "Diya" application installed and a verified set of documents: RNOKPP, ID card or passport, driver’s license, car registration certificate, and a valid OSCPV policy. Data about cars and insurance policies are automatically pulled from state registers, and the second driver joins the procedure using a QR code or link.
After filling out the form, adding photos of the damage and a diagram of the accident, both drivers sign the document using “Action.Signature”. Then the application automatically sends the completed Europrotocol to the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIB), from where the data is sent to the insurance companies of the participants in the accident.
You can use the service only if you meet a number of conditions: no injuries or fatalities, no more than two cars involved in the accident, no damage to other property, the drivers being sober and their full consent regarding the circumstances of the accident.
"A traffic accident no longer means an hour on the side of the road and a paper form on the hood. If both drivers agree on the circumstances, everything is completed on a smartphone in a few minutes," said Oksana Ferchuk.
Previously, the electronic Europrotocol could only be filled out through a special MTIBU web portal.
Over 100 cases have been opened in Ukraine regarding accidents involving electric scooters, and a third of them involve teenagers. What are drivers most often prosecuted for?
