The State Customs Service of Ukraine reported that in January and February 2025, 297.1 tons of drones were imported for a total of $232.3 million and components for them for $43.4 million.
The State Customs Service of Ukraine reported that in January and February 2025, 297.1 tons of drones were imported for a total of $232.3 million and components for them for $43.4 million.
Customs officials told this in response to a request from Ukrinform. It is specified that in the first two months of 2025, goods under code 8807 «Parts of aircraft of commodity positions 8801, 8802 or 8806» worth $43.42 million were imported.
It was previously reported that UAV imports for January 2024 amounted to $99.23 million, and for February — $89.46 million. Thus, this year’s figures are higher by $43.61 million.
In total, last year, drones worth $1.17 billion were imported to Ukraine, and components for them — $134.8 million. In 2023, imports of drones and components amounted to $440.7 million and $16.86 million, respectively.
As noted by the State Customs Service, information on import volumes is generated based on information from electronic copies of customs declarations, customs clearance for which has been completed and which are included in statistical imports.
Currently, the legislation provides for the application of exemption from customs duties when importing the requested goods into the customs territory of Ukraine.
Recall that in 2023, the government simplified the import of components for military equipment — without permission from the State Export Control Service. The decision covered the import of components specially designed or modified for military use.
Subsequently, the State Customs Service of Ukraine provided detailed answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding customs clearance of UAVs and their parts, related to the need to obtain permits from the State Export Control Service of Ukraine for the import of military and dual-use goods.
