«The main mechanic of the game is transformation. Playing as a pawn, you can briefly transform into a queen. As you move forward, you will encounter holes and enemies on the board, and only through transformation can you defeat them,» the author describes the project.
The idea for the game came about during a jam of the Igrovary community, and it took about a year to create.
According to the developer, Infinity Chess combines classic chess with the mechanics of runners like Subway Surfers and roguelikes like The Binding of Isaac. Players must constantly move forward, as the chessboard behind them collapses. Along the way, they must avoid traps, fight enemies, and collect bonuses.
UniBake continues to develop the project and release updates. One of the latest ones added new items to the game — a spring that throws the player’s figure forward, and a ladder that allows you to overcome chasms.
Infinity Chess is available for download on Google Play .
