Kyivstar told dev.ua that the infrastructure «continues to operate even during power outages.»
Currently, 70% of the network is operating normally, and over 19% of base stations provide communication thanks to autonomous power supply (batteries and generators). The overall network availability remains at 88,5%.
«In some regions, power outages are actually significant, while the network continues to operate thanks to backup power. At the same time, less than 12% of base stations are currently temporarily unavailable,» the company’s press service said.
Kyivstar assured that they are doing «everything possible to maintain communication for the maximum number of subscribers.»
Earlier, Kyivstar CEO Oleksandr Komarov, during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, stated that in some regions the company’s network operates under conditions of total blackout.
