Up to 20 local Internet providers from frontline regions will be able to receive basic equipment for the uninterrupted operation of optical networks free of charge.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, we are talking about those providers that operate in communities of Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv and Odessa regions.
Such free «support packages» for local providers include optical cable, materials and equipment for line construction and repair, infrastructure maintenance equipment, as well as specialized tools for installation and emergency repair work.
At the same time, not all providers from the indicated regions will be able to receive such equipment, but only those that pass the appropriate selection.
The conditions for participation in it are that providers:
work in frontline or border communities;
provide internet to the population, businesses, and critical infrastructure facilities;
require additional equipment for stable network operation.
During selection, additional factors will also include the number of communities, subscribers, and critical infrastructure facilities covered by the provider’s network, as well as the use of modern PON technologies (GPON, XGS-PON, etc.) and the availability of technical resources to quickly configure the received equipment.
This initiative is provided within the framework of the «Partnership for a Strong Ukraine» program, and representatives of Internet providers can fill out an online form and submit an application by July 31.
As previously reported by dev.ua, the Ministry of Digital Affairs announced the development of a draft law that streamlines the work of data centers and cloud service providers, in particular, removes unnecessary bureaucratic procedures and allows businesses to conclude flexible contracts.
«Working on a ladder in a bulletproof vest is very difficult.
