The IDC study , supported by Lenovo, was conducted in the EMEA region, which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and surveyed 620 business leaders from leading companies.

This result will contribute to a 104% increase in projected investment in AI next year.
Statistics also show that more and more companies are seeing tangible benefits of AI for business.
As AI investment increases, so do priorities. Generative AI will become a key development direction over the next 12 months, with its share increasing almost fourfold, from 12% to 44%.
Among other AI technologies, the largest area of investment over the past year has been in applications with embedded AI. Companies are now focusing their spending on developing and managing AI models — 32%.
Despite the optimistic sentiment, respondents also highlighted challenges their companies faced when implementing AI, with scaling difficulties (30%) and data quality issues (29%) being the main ones.
To overcome these obstacles, respondents point to four key aspects:
When it comes to hardware, 65% of companies in EMEA use on-premises or hybrid architecture, and only 18% prefer the public cloud.
In addition, 10% of organizations are already actively using AI-powered computers, 25% are testing them, and 65% are considering integration in the near future to maximize AI capabilities.
