The JWI-4000 is a modern fixed-wing, near-vertical takeoff drone with an additional booster, designed to intercept and destroy enemy drones. The developers emphasize the ability to counter drones such as the Geran 2/Shahed 136 and their derivatives.
«The system combines high speed, compact size, modern sensors, a powerful power plant, integrated artificial intelligence (AI) and a directed fragmentation warhead. It is designed to work and integrate with existing detection segments of the air defense infrastructure, as well as potentially work with dedicated detection radars,» the observer reported.
The JWI-4000 can reach up to 4,000 m with a 20-minute flight time at maximum altitude and reaches speeds of up to 300 km/h thanks to its electric motor with a ducted fan. The drone destroys enemy UAVs with a guided fragmentation warhead weighing up to 1.5 kg.
Like other drones from LPP sro, JWI operates on the basis of artificial intelligence and completely autonomously searches for and destroys targets, which makes the drone invulnerable to electronic warfare.
In May, LPP sro conducted field tests of its MTS family of strike drones in Ukraine. According to praisethesteph, the company supplies hundreds of these drones to the Defense Forces, and the JWI-4000 may soon join them.
Previously, Ukrainian engineers from the Amazing Drones company created a fully automated drone interceptor that will help air defense forces repel attacks by enemy UAVs.
