Vocci has released a ring-recorder that takes AI notes from conversations. How does it work?

Vocci has released a $249 smart ring that can record meetings, transcribe conversations, and automatically take notes using AI. To start recording, simply double-click the button on the ring.
Vocci Ring works like a voice recorder on your finger. A double tap starts or stops recording. You can highlight important moments during a conversation, and when you’re done, the app creates a transcript, a quick summary, and other AI notes.
The ring weighs 3–5 g depending on the size, is protected from water and dust according to the IP67 standard and can record continuously for up to eight hours. Audio can also be saved to the internal memory and later synchronized with the Vocci application on the smartphone. The ring also gives almost no indication that it is recording a conversation at this moment. It has a light indicator, but it is turned towards the owner. So the person opposite may not even understand that the recorder is working.
However, the ring seems to do better with long recordings than with short ones. A TechCrunch journalist spoke for over an hour in a noisy cafe. Vocci was able to transcribe most of the conversation fairly accurately. However, after short voice notes, the AI sometimes generated “insights” that were longer than the recording itself.
Users can also share their recordings with ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, or Codex via MCP. This allows the AI assistant to, for example, find a detail in an old meeting or answer a question based on its transcript.
The Vocci Ring costs $249. Along with the ring, the user receives a free plan on the Vocci service — it includes 300 minutes of transcription per month. Plus gives 1,200 minutes for $15.99 per month, and Pro with unlimited transcription costs $29.99 per month.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about another AI-powered voice note app — Stream from Sandbar, a startup founded by former Meta employees. It also starts at $249, but is more focused on short voice notes and music control.
