Major European airports hit by massive cyberattack

A cyberattack targeting a service provider for check-in and boarding systems has disrupted operations at several major European airports, including London Heathrow, as well as Brussels and Berlin, causing delays and flight cancellations.
According to Brussels Airport, the attack disabled automated systems, allowing only manual check-in and boarding procedures, Reuters writes .
"This has a significant impact on flight schedules and will unfortunately result in delays and cancellations," the operator said in a statement.
Heathrow also warned of delays caused by a "technical issue" with an external supplier.
Passengers with flights scheduled for Saturday were advised by the affected airports to confirm their travel with their airlines before heading to the airport.
“Due to a technical problem with a system provider that operates throughout Europe, check-in waiting times are longer. We are working on a quick solution,” says a banner from Berlin Airport on its website.
Frankfurt Airport was not affected by the attack, a spokesman said.
