«Scammers are sending fake emails on behalf of the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov. We urge everyone to carefully check email senders and not trust dubious recipients,» they noted .
Among the recipients who received such a fake letter was, in particular, the president of the Ukrainian National Association of Canada, Yuriy Klyufas.
«It concerned a request from the alleged head of the President’s Office to 'provide active media and informational support' for the return of Ukrainian citizens to their homeland,» the President’s Office shared details.
They noticed that the letter supposedly from Budanov did not come from the official address, but from the mailbox [email protected], created on a commercial email resource.
«The letter has a signature that does not belong to Kirill Budanov. All information about the cyber fraud has already been transferred to the relevant law enforcement agencies,» the message states.
As dev.ua previously wrote, hostile hackers are attacking Ukrainians with fake letters from the authorities demanding that they update popular applications.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy has warned about phishing emails demanding «payment» on behalf of the agency.
