"Creating a product is the easiest part." Kiss My Apps explains why they only give a new app three months

Ukrainian product company Kiss My Apps claims that they can technically launch a new product in just 24 hours. But then the app has three months to show that it can make money. Revenue from users must cover the costs of attracting and servicing them, and the total amount of money from sales must reach $100,000. If this does not happen, the product is closed.

This was told by CEO and co-owner of Kiss My Apps Dmitry Lola to Forbes.

KMA is willing to spend about $50,000 to test one new idea. And then the product will have 3 months to show that it is able to earn and scale. Lola claims that it is possible to launch a product in 24 hours, as Kiss My Apps has its own analytical system that collects data from different products and helps evaluate new launches, as well as AI tools for development, testing and creation of MVP - the first basic version of the product, which is launched to test the idea on users.

However, most of the company's products pass this three-month test. Over four and a half years, KMA has only closed five products that did not show the desired result.

“Creating the product is the easiest part, the hardest part is distribution,” says Lola.

According to Lola, the main challenge now is finding users for it. Over the past year, the number of new apps in the world has increased sevenfold, but according to Appfigures, cited by Forbes, only 4% have been able to earn at least $10,000.

Therefore, a significant part of the money goes not to the development itself, but to promotion. Depending on the product, marketing can make up from 50% to 90% of all expenses. At KMA, according to Lola, this figure is closer to the lower limit. In addition, the company has already automated some of this work. KMA has put five older applications on "autopilot". They are no longer growing, but continue to bring profit. And marketing and support there are mainly handled by bots.

Currently, Kiss My Apps' portfolio includes 27 applications with a combined monthly audience of about 6 million users. Among the company's most notable products are: Printer App for connecting a smartphone to a printer, Chi—a mental health service, and AI Remodel, which uses AI to help plan and visualize interiors.

Previously, dev.ua wrote that Kiss My Apps planned to scale its product portfolio and was looking for managers for individual areas. In particular, the company wanted to launch new AI products and develop the Health&Fitness and mobile utilities areas.
