Koaly.ai has launched a mobile application that helps users structure medical information, including test results. According to the developers, this is Ukraine’s first AI assistant for preventive medicine that works as a consultant in a smartphone.
The press release notes that Koaly provides explanations of results in simple terms, generates personalized recommendations, and generates indicator dynamics.
The startup believes that their product also solves several key problems in the medical field, including chaotic storage of tests, lack of habit of regular health check-ups, and difficulties in quick access to a patient’s complete medical history for doctors.
Instead, the Koaly.ai application creates a patient’s digital medical record, generates reports using an AI assistant, and allows you to easily grant access to a doctor in a few clicks.
The user uploads or takes a photo of the test results into the application. The AI assistant processes the data, explains the indicators and forms individual recommendations, generates health dynamics and reports on possible risks.
It is already available for free on Google Play, the App Store, and in the web version on koaly.ai .
«Koaly.ai is like Siri for health. Our application helps people make informed decisions about their health. This is the first step towards a culture of regular self-care in Ukraine. The service forms the habit of taking care of yourself not when „everything hurts“, but every day — easily and clearly,» says endocrinologist and co-founder of Koaly.ai Kateryna Komisarenko.
She said that the idea for Koaly was born from her daily experience as a doctor. Doctors and patients are constantly faced with the fact that medical data is scattered across different systems, papers, and phones, says Kateryna.
«During consultations, we spend a third of our time just collecting and organizing the results of examinations, instead of focusing on solving the problem itself. That is why we created a tool that automates the routine, allows you to see the full picture and, most importantly, take care of yourself regularly,» explained the co-founder of Koaly.ai
She believes that Koaly.ai will help partially relieve Ukrainian doctors by automating the initial interpretation of health indicators.
The service is powered by an AI model trained on evidence-based medical sources. All information is encrypted and stored in accordance with GDPR.
Koaly.ai is already planning to launch an API for integrations with laboratories, clinics, insurance services and develop the functions of a personal AI assistant: even more accuracy and benefit. The startup’s goal is to create an entire Koaly ecosystem, including diet and exercise recommendations.
