Ukrainian company TAF Industries (formerly known as TAF Drones) has begun production of the Kolibri 13 FR1 UAV. What are its capabilities?
As Defense Express reports, TAF Industries has begun mass production of a new repeater drone, which is designed to operate in difficult terrain and under the influence of electronic warfare (EW) equipment.
The Kolibri 13 FR1 provides communication for other drones on a battlefield full of obstacles. It can operate day and night, and does not require GPS thanks to optical stabilization. The drone-repeater has a flight range of up to 15 km, an altitude of up to 1 km, and a flight time of up to 45 minutes.
The Kolibri 13 FR1 UAV includes two drones, a NSU, a special case for transportation, and additional video antennas.
Defense Express notes that the Kolibri 13 FR1 will help replace Chinese drones, which are becoming increasingly difficult for the Ukrainian military to use due to sales restrictions and security issues.
TAF Industries previously reported that they currently operate 20 production sites, have a team of over 50 engineers, produce up to 80,000 UAVs per month, and have developed over 30 miltech products. The company creates not only drones, but also electronic warfare systems, initiation boards, and AI solutions for targeting.
