“The bonuses weren’t money, but a unique experience of watching the company evaporate when it came time to pay,” says an experienced media buyer who received complete disregard from the company instead of money.
Senior Media Buyer Eduard Khristoforov shared his experience working with TrafficMinds, which, according to the author, did not pay him for the work he did. After the publicity, it seems that candidates began to refuse interviews, at least one such case is already known.
Senior Media Buyer Eduard Khristoforov shared his experience working with TrafficMinds, which, according to the author, did not pay him for the work he did. After the publicity, it seems that candidates began to refuse interviews, at least one such case is already known.
What happened?
“$2,500 + bonuses… Sounds solid, right? But now I know that the bonuses were not money, but a unique experience of watching the company evaporate when it came time to pay,” Eduard Khristoforov began his story on LinkedIn.
According to him, at the end of July he agreed to cooperate with TrafficMinds. The work was provided for a fixed rate of $2,500 + bonuses, without any additional conditions regarding payments. The employer even sent a contract, but it was unsigned.
Due to personal circumstances, the Senior Media Buyer was unable to complete the entire amount of work, so they agreed with the CEO that the company would pay 50% of the rate.
"In August, a very unpleasant personal situation occurred that threw me off track, and I was unable to fully fulfill all my duties. But at the same time, I ran tests, turned on advertising in several geos, and the results were there - the work was being done, although not in full," Eduard noted in his post.
On September 1, communication with TrafficMinds simply stopped. The last thing the company reported was about payments, which were supposed to be made between September 10 and 20.
After September 15, the Senior Media Buyer wrote to the CEO and team lead, as well as the recruiter, but it turned out that she had been outsourced and was no longer in touch with the company.
Screenshots of the correspondence show that attempts to get answers from the company continued until September 22, and did not yield any results.
"A company that, after a bad month (and yes, life sometimes throws up surprises) agrees to a 50% payout, only to then stupidly disappear is a new level of "reliability". A CEO, a team leader, an "outsourced" recruiter who doesn't solve anything is the perfect team for a marathon of silence," Eduard concluded.
What is known about the company?
According to LinkedIn, Traffic Minds specializes in analytics and strategy. Other sources indicate that the company has three years of experience in performance marketing (FB → TG, iGaming). The headquarters are located in the small American town of Port Allen, Louisiana. The number of employees is 50-200 people.
In addition to LinkedIn, mentions of the company can be found on Instagram (advertisement of an open vacancy Media Buyer Gambling FB), and a similar ad can be found on the Russian remote work search site screenly.work . The company was also looking for a Motion Designer on DailyRemote and a Financial Manager on hirify.me . That is, Traffic Minds does not advertise open vacancies on large Ukrainian platforms such as DOU, Djinni, etc.
LinkedIn states that the role of the company's CEO is performed by Artem B., who supposedly lives in Warsaw. Whether this is indeed the person with whom Eduard corresponded is unknown, as the communication took place only in chat.
Instead of a conclusion
"I hope this case will be useful to someone — and future specialists will think twice before contacting such "partners," Eduard wrote in his post.
It looks like this post may have been useful. A candidate for the role of Finance Manager declined an interview with the company.
This was reported in the comments by Margarita Vityuk, CEO of the JAZZIT agency, which recruits for Traffic Minds. According to her, they have never had any problems with this company. “I have been working with this client for a long time, and there are no problems with payments or communication.”
However, there was no comment under the post from company representatives expressing their vision of this situation.
dev.ua has reached out to Traffic Minds, as well as the company's CEO, for comment. We are currently awaiting responses.
