According to Axios, this agreement will allow the Pentagon to deploy artificial intelligence capabilities in its top-secret networks using Scale AI’s comprehensive products.
The agreement is for five years, and the first project under it is the Pentagon’s commitment of $40.7 million to Scale AI for the provision of AI-ready data.
The company said that unlike many other competitors, they offer the US Department of Defense not just their large language models, but comprehensive services, including in secret and top-secret networks.
This means that the company will provide the Pentagon with its data processing engine and its generative artificial intelligence platform for testing models.
As the publication notes, artificial intelligence companies are entering into deals with the Pentagon as the department seeks modernization and President Trump insists on increasing defense spending.
Previously, dev.ua wrote that Scale AI is laying off 14% of its employees after joining Meta.
In June of this year, Meta completed its largest investment: the company invested $14.3 billion in the startup Scale AI and hired its CEO.
