Kyiv and the region have added business property damaged by shelling to the compensation program. How will it work?

This was announced by Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky.

The maximum amount of such compensation has been increased from UAH 3 million to UAH 5 million per year for one company. The main condition of the program is that you must join it before the property is damaged. You can include in the program, in particular, your own office, buildings, engineering networks and equipment that the business uses in its work.

The rules describe "production equipment" quite broadly - as devices, apparatus, tools and other equipment that a company uses in its main activity, in particular for the provision of services. That is, this definition could potentially include some of the equipment of IT companies. But servers, computers or network equipment are not listed separately in the rules. So whether specific equipment can be included in the program - it is worth clarifying with the Export Credit Agency.

Direct compensation also applies to property owned by the business itself. For rented offices and other leased property, the government has expanded another mechanism — compensation for part of the cost of insurance against war risks.

To include property in the direct compensation program, a company must submit documents to the ECA and pay a one-time fee of 0.5% of the declared amount of possible damage. The business can independently determine the amount of possible damage within the value of the property. A maximum of UAH 30 million in compensation can be received by one business for the entire duration of the program.

The list of property for which businesses can receive compensation has also been expanded. It includes fuel, vehicles for its transportation and storage, agricultural machinery, trucks and trailers weighing more than 7.5 tons. The program will also cover movable property damaged during transportation through high-risk areas.
