The largest Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar is leasing up to 5,000 sq m of space in the office building where the company’s central office is based.
UPD. As explained by company representatives.
This is stated in the rental advertisement. According to the announcement, an area of 400 to 5,000 sq m is offered for rent. The landlord offers office space with renovation, furniture, infrastructure and conditions for autonomous work.
dev.ua called the specified number and found out that the premises from the 4th to the 14th floors, where the offices of Kyivstar employees used to be, were for rent.
Kyivstar President Oleksandr Komarov, in a comment to dev.ua, said that they decided to lease the premises for a number of reasons. «In fact, we really don’t need the space that we have. Partly the remote regime, partly the gigantomania of the past,» he noted.
We sent a request to the company to learn more, but there was no response at the time of publication.
UPD 12.05.2025
We asked Kyivstar for details about the lease of premises in the company’s main office. In particular, we tried to find out about the motives for leasing 10 floors of the building, the terms, conditions and cost of the lease, whether there was a reduction in the team and where Kyivstar employees are currently located, and also whether the company plans to abandon the office format at all. Here is what the press service of the mobile operator answered:
Kyivstar’s transition to a hybrid mode of operation in 2020 significantly affected the format and the need for the full volume of office space. We transformed the approach to organizing workplaces: the new format provides for both open open spaces and creative and lounge areas that contribute to effective interaction in teams and between employees. In connection with this, the volume of office space involved has decreased and the company has decided to lease part of it. This process took place gradually, in accordance with the transition of employees to a hybrid work format and the renewal of office space. As before, one of our priorities is the creation of comfortable workplaces with a modern ecosystem, which employees are very satisfied with.
Currently, the premises offered for lease are ready for occupancy by new residents. We are open to cooperation with tenants on market terms. At the same time, an important criterion for us is also the integrity of partners and transparency of business in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine.
