In early April, Kyivstar President Oleksandr Komarov said in an interview with Forbes Ukraine that he had met with three or four owners of educational platforms over the past two years.
«We looked at how they could be scaled, but we haven’t settled on anything yet,» the president of the mobile operator noted.
But, as Scroll.media’s own sources have revealed, the company has set its sights on BUKI. Negotiations are at an early stage.
BUKI is an international tutoring platform. In December, Synzheretsky told MC.today that the company can «boast 1,600,000+ processed orders from all over the world. 130,000+ active tutors have already been registered, who have received 210,000+ positive reviews about our teachers (5-star reviews).»
BUKI was also named one of TIME magazine’s 2024 EdTech Rising Stars.
In addition to Ukraine, the company operates in Poland, Spain, Mexico, the USA, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Romania, and Bulgaria.
UPD. Kyivstar has denied its interest in acquiring BUKI.
«We would like to inform you that Kyivstar is considering investments in several IT product areas in the Ukrainian market as part of the development of its digital operator model. Currently, we have no targeted interest in the BUKI service and are open to communication with all companies in the field of education,» the company’s press service said.
