Last week, Forbes Ukraine reported that Kyivstar and Comfy are in the final stages of negotiations, and a deal could be announced in the coming days. Scroll.media sourcesclaim the opposite — there can be no deal, at least not in the form previously reported.
One of the reasons for the impossibility of this deal is that Comfy wants to retain control over the business, but at the same time it is known that Kyivstar buys controlling stakes. This was the case with Helsi and Uklon .
Secondly, it was previously said that Comfy was valued at $300-350 million, but Scroll Media sources say that the company cannot be worth that much. According to the publication, Kyivstar offered $150 million for the entire company.
And finally, Kyivstar needs a marketplace, not a retail store like Comfy, the transformation of which may take several years and requires significant investments.
However, Comfy may still be sold. Scroll Media claims that possible buyers include a Polish company and a Ukrainian one.
