Lapathoniia platform launched in Ukraine for working with domestic AI models

The Lapathoniia service has launched in Ukraine — an infrastructure solution for hosting and integrating large Ukrainian language models.
The launch of the project was announced by its co-founders Bohdan Didenko and Vladyslav Melnyk. According to the developers, the idea of creating the service arose due to the lack of a convenient tool for hosting local neural networks on the market.
"I first wrote publicly about the need for such a service in the fall of 2024 and all this time I was waiting for it to appear. At some point, it became obvious that the only way to speed up this process was to lead it," said Bohdan Didenko.
Technically, Lapathoniia is based on the cloud infrastructure of the provider De Novo, and scientific support for the project is provided by the Department of Artificial Intelligence Systems of Lviv Polytechnic. The main feature of the platform is the complete physical location of all components in Ukraine, which ensures compliance with data localization requirements.
At launch, the service provides access to two Ukrainian models: MamayLM and LapaLLM. The platform supports an OpenAI-compatible API, allowing developers to integrate Ukrainian LLMs into their own products by simply changing the base server address in the code.
Among the technical characteristics of the system:
a context window with a capacity of up to 32,000 tokens;
support for streaming text generation;
tools to manage API keys, budgets, and limits for teams.
Lapathoniia is currently in closed beta testing. The first users have already received access to the functionality, and later the developers plan to open registration to a wider range of specialists.
Earlier, in an interview with dev.ua, the head of the Lapa LLM project, Yuriy Paniv, spoke about the creation of a large Ukrainian language model, working with data, and the challenges of artificial intelligence hallucinations.
