The forces of unmanned systems presented the work of the Ukrainian laser complex «Tryzub».
This was announced by the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Vadym Sukharevskyi, at the conference «European Defense Industry: Prospects for Cooperation with the Ukrainian Defense Industry.»
The Ukrainian laser complex can destroy enemy strike bombs, cruise and ballistic missiles at a distance of up to 3 km, while the «Tryzub» system can destroy helicopters, airplanes and reconnaissance drones at a distance of up to 5 km.
At the same time, the weapon can be used to blind drones, cruise missiles, helicopters, and airplanes at a distance of up to 10 km.
«We can state that today Ukraine is, if I’m not mistaken, the fifth country that can say that it has a laser. Today, we can already shoot down planes with this laser at an altitude of over 2 km,» Sukharevskiy emphasized.
The tests also demonstrated ground target operation and the use of a laser to blind the camera of a fiber-optic FPV drone.
Judging by the published video, although the laser complex is equipped with an optoelectronic station, targeting is done manually using a joystick, and not in automatic mode. However, it seems that the complex is still at the stage of a functional prototype, so this feature will probably be added later.
