In July 2025, mobile operator lifecell completed the connection of 350 base stations to the high-speed fiber-optic network of Datagroup. The company plans to increase this figure to 800 by the end of 2025.
lifecell continues to connect the operator's base stations to more reliable and high-speed technologies based on the use of
Datagroup's fiber-optic network, such as xPON, and the use of "dark" optical fibers, which provides bandwidth of up to 10 Gbps per base station.
This allows you to guarantee stable communication and significantly increase the amount of data transmitted between base stations and the network core.
For subscribers, this means:
Lifecell subscribers in Ukraine actively use mobile Internet — the average data traffic consumption in June 2025 is more than 13 GB per user. Converting base stations to optics allows to significantly unload the network and improve the quality of the Internet.
The project to connect base stations to optical networks has covered most regions of Ukraine.

Fiber optic technology is not only technologically more efficient, but also has higher energy-saving characteristics, namely fiber optic solutions, compared to others, consume less electricity per unit of transmitted data, which is in line with the group's energy efficiency strategy.
