The Drone Line project is an initiative of the President of Ukraine, coordinated by the Land Forces Command, the State Border Service, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
In turn, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced the launch of the revolutionary «Drone Line» project, which should radically strengthen the Defense Forces brigades.
«Technology is changing war. We are launching a revolutionary project that will radically strengthen our brigades and scale the experience of effectively destroying the enemy — the „Drone Line,“» he wrote on Facebook.
Umerov called this project a «new standard of war,» where unmanned systems become a key element of combat operations, helping Ukrainian defenders perform the most difficult tasks.
«We are focusing on the best UAV units. The Drone Line will scale the most effective unmanned systems in the Ground Forces and the State Border Guard Service,» he noted.
«We are combining infantry and UAVs into a single strike system. This will allow us to form a killzone 10-15 km deep, where the enemy will not be able to move without losses. Provide infantry with constant air support and cover. Detect and destroy targets before they even approach our positions. This will radically change combat tactics, giving our soldiers a decisive advantage,» Umerov emphasized.
As noted in the statement of the Ground Forces, the best unmanned units, such as «K-2», «Achilles», «RAROG» and «Birds of the Magyar», together with other UAV units, create a permanent line of drones that will strengthen our soldiers at ground zero, ensure total control over all enemy actions and their destruction. Also, a member of the «Drone Line» is the unit of the State Border Guard Service — «Phoenix».
«The commanders of these units — the systemic commander and example for the brothers Magyar, the fearless tactician and master of lightning strikes Achilles, the charismatic and invincible strategist Veres, the aggressive and unpredictable leader Hassan — know their business, care about the safety of the fighters, massively destroy the occupiers, and master new technologies and tactics,» the Land Forces statement says.

The post of the ACHILLES unit states the following: «The Drone Line is the development of the best unmanned systems units that have proven their effectiveness, leadership, and combat power. The Drone Line is the scaling and dissemination of the best combat experience in the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The Drone Line is the strengthening of technologies to protect the Ukrainian infantryman. The 429th separate regiment „ACHILLES“ is being scaled, which means we will increase the number of professional UAV operators and engineers, the zone of effective use of unmanned systems, and will be able to close a longer front line.»
«Our regiment destroys the occupiers, conducts reconnaissance, analytics, and planning, and uses strike drones of all types. Our arsenal includes reconnaissance aircraft from Mavic to large wings, an armored vehicle fleet protected by electronic warfare. We have our own workshop, production, and laboratory. But the most valuable in our regiment are people!», reports the «RAROG» unit.
K-2 notes that «technological development is the key to our success in the fierce struggle with the enemy. They beat with quantity — we respond with quality. And we scale this quality, our ideas, technologies.»
Recall that earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced this initiative by publishing a corresponding video. This project is another step towards strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and ensuring victory over the Russian occupiers.
