The developers of the Toloka underwater drone showed its smallest version, the TLK-150. What are its characteristics and capabilities?
Ukrainian developers have introduced an updated version of the Toloka underwater drone-torpedo. The TLK-150 model is the smallest in the series, but can carry up to 50 kg of explosives over a distance of 100 km.
Ukrainian developers have introduced an updated version of the Toloka underwater drone-torpedo. The TLK-150 model is the smallest in the series, but can carry up to 50 kg of explosives over a distance of 100 km.
This drone was first introduced by the Brave-1 platform in 2023, when it was reported about 3 versions of the drone: TLK 1000, TLK 400 and TLK 150. The latter (as a full-size model) was first shown during the presentation of the achievements of the Ukrainian defense industry and the Zbroia brand. This is reported by «Military».
The TLK 150 is 2.5 meters long, has a range of 100 km, and a combat load of 20 to 50 kg of explosives. Despite being an underwater drone, it has surface elements — these are antennas for receiving GPS signals, television and thermal imaging cameras, and communication equipment.
The torpedo drone’s propellers have electric motors, next to which are located vertical and aft horizontal rudders, which differs from the Toloka samples demonstrated in 2023 .

«The drone itself no longer looks like a technology demonstrator, but a full-fledged model, ready for sea trials, which may already be taking place,» Military News notes.
The largest version of the TLK 1000 is known to be 4 to 12 meters long and carry a warhead of up to 5,000 kg. The developers are aiming to achieve a range of up to 2,000 km for this version. The average TLK 400 can be 4 to 6 meters long with a warhead of up to 500 kg and a range of up to 1,200 km. These underwater drones were only shown at the presentation.
Defense Express notes that when the Ukrainian Armed Forces receive such weapons, Ukraine will be able to more effectively destroy Russian ships in the Black Sea. Toloka drones will move underwater and will be less visible and vulnerable. They will also be able to hit enemy ships below the waterline, which guarantees more severe damage to Kalibr missile carriers.
Recall that last year, the Security Service of Ukraine showed footage of an operation it conducted on the night of December 5-6 in the Kerch Bay using Sea Babu naval drones. When the Russian occupiers tried to intercept them, the Ukrainian drones suddenly opened fire in return.
