At the annual IT Arena technology conference, Ukrainian defense company Phantom Defense first announced its new development — a specialized FPV drone interceptor called "Mangal".
The system is designed for effective air defense of positions, facilities, and military equipment against enemy drones.
Destruction principle: The charge fires a special net with weights (sinks), which opens directly during the shot and physically entangles and shoots down the enemy drone.
Ammunition: The module is designed for 6 charges.
Optical system: Equipped with two cameras for improved visibility and situational awareness.
Automation: Supports the automatic target detection function (autodetect), which significantly simplifies and speeds up threat detection by the operator.
Installation versatility: The system can be installed both stationary (to protect checkpoints, trenches, or infrastructure) and on automotive equipment.
According to company representatives, the first production models may appear on the market in a few months.
