The Verge notes that OpenAI has renamed the «connectors» that helped users pull data from other services (such as Google Drive or Dropbox) to ChatGPT, and now calls these programs «apps».
It is noted that they can use information from the chatbot’s memory if this feature is enabled. For Free, Plus, Go, and Pro users, ChatGPT can use the information to train its models if the user has enabled the «improve model for everyone» option.
New apps for ChatGPT include Apple Music, which can help all users discover music or create playlists and manage music libraries, and DoorDash, which can provide recipe ideas, meal planning, and weekly grocery shopping lists.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman previously said that the company plans to build «obvious features that you would expect from a reliable platform» over time.
