Despite his willingness to lift restrictions, Musk stressed that this decision is purely political and must be made directly in the White House.
“Sources familiar with the matter said that Musk had previously told Fedorov that he was willing to allow Ukraine to use Starlink-equipped drones outside its borders to strike Russian targets. However, according to the interlocutors, Musk noted that this decision was political and should be made in the White House,” the Financial Times article says .
Fedorov declined to comment on his conversations with Musk. Musk and SpaceX have not yet responded to requests for comment.
The former head of the Ministry of Defense noted in an interview that the intensification of Ukraine's long-range strikes on Russia is the most viable way to force President Putin to end the war, but more investment is needed for the weapons used for this.
Earlier, the American publication The Atlantic reported that Musk continues to deny Ukraine the use of Starlink to target military facilities inside Russia. According to the publication, as of early August, there had been no "positive decision."
