Elon Musk admitted that he cheated when he pretended to be a pro gamer
Billionaire Elon Musk, who loves to play video games, admitted that he gave other people access to his account in the game Path of Exile 2 so that they could level it up. In PoE 2, such account sharing is prohibited, and Musk’s account should be blocked.
Billionaire Elon Musk, who loves to play video games, admitted that he gave other people access to his account in the game Path of Exile 2 so that they could level it up. In PoE 2, such account sharing is prohibited, and Musk’s account should be blocked.
Players suspected the billionaire of cheating when he showed a lack of understanding of the basic mechanics of PoE 2 on one of his streams while playing as a high-level character. For example, he didn’t realize how powerful his equipment was and said nonsense like «my staff is only level 62,» when in fact it was one of the best items in the game, notes DSOGaming.
It was obvious to PoE 2 players that Musk, who works on the development of several huge companies and is also interested in politics, does not have dozens and hundreds of hours of free time to pump in the game. However, for some reason, the billionaire until recently pretended to be a real professional player, who is in the top 20 best in Path of Exile 2.
However, in a recent video by YouTuber NikoWrex, Elon Musk admitted to secretly promoting Diablo 4 and/or Path of Exile 2 character accounts, and possibly using real-world money trading to purchase in-game gear.
According to the billionaire, he did this because «it’s impossible to beat players in Asia if you don’t do this». When a YouTuber asked Musk if he leveled his characters himself, he replied: «No, I never said that. Top accounts in Diablo or PoE require multiple people to play on the same account to win the level race.»
Although this is a clear violation of the game rules, bordering on the use of cheats, Musk does not consider himself guilty and sees no reason to apologize to the PoE 2 player community.
DSOGaming pointed out that the Grinding Gear Games studio has repeatedly punished «regular players» for boosting/sharing accounts, but it is unknown whether the developers would dare to do something similar to the account of a celebrity like Elon Musk. Even if he himself admitted to it.
