McDonald’s fast food restaurant chain in Ukraine is introducing temporary restrictions on the range of dishes in some of its establishments. The decision is related to logistical difficulties and delays in product delivery caused by prolonged and frequent air strikes.
McDonald’s Ukraine announced this on its official social media. The network explained that the menu reduction is a necessary step that will allow maintaining a stable availability of the most popular items for visitors. Because of this, the range of dishes in different establishments may differ.
«We will gradually return items to the menu as soon as we can ensure stable supply,» McDonald’s said. Users can view the current list of available dishes for a specific restaurant in the McDonald’s branded application, on the platforms of partner delivery services or directly on site.
The company notes that its restaurants continue to operate under enhanced safety rules: during an air raid alert, establishments stop working, and staff and visitors move to the nearest shelters. During the forced break, employees receive full wages. Currently, McDonald’s Ukraine is analyzing how the new alarm level distribution system will work in practice and whether it will allow establishments to safely organize their work during the «yellow» level.
The first establishment of the chain in Ukraine was opened on May 24, 1997 in Kyiv. Currently, McDonald’s unites 130 restaurants in 43 settlements and provides work for almost 11,000 Ukrainians. According to the analytical system Opendatabot, in 2025 the company’s revenue increased by 26,6% to UAH 21.3 billion, and net profit increased by 21,3% to UAH 1.567 billion. Last year, the chain paid UAH 3.5 billion in taxes to the budget.
