The Silpo supermarket chain has introduced its own official MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. From now on, any compatible AI client — for example, Claude, Cursor, or Kiro — can gain full access to the chain’s e-commerce platform on behalf of an authorized user without the need to develop custom integrations.

From now on, any compatible AI client — for example, Claude, Cursor, or Kiro — can gain full access to the chain’s e-commerce platform on behalf of an authorized user without the need to develop custom integrations.
MCP is an open standard from Anthropic that allows AI models to connect to external systems. This gives AI direct access to Silpo’s catalog, cart, order history, loyalty programs, and delivery.
The project also became the technological basis for a hackathon, where developers create their own AI solutions based on this integration.
The developers have given the AI access to 39 special tools that cover the entire shopping process. The AI can independently execute queries such as:
«Add 2 liters of milk, bread, and a dozen eggs to the basket»;
«Show my last 5 orders»;
«What promotions are available to my delivery address?»;
«Apply my bonus points to the current cart»;
«Find a replacement for an item that is out of stock.»
The connection is made using the OAuth 2.1 standard. The user only needs to authenticate to the Silpo account once via a browser during the first connection (using a phone number and OTP code or password).
At the same time, the security of personal data remains at a high level: the AI client never sees the user’s personal Silpo JWT — it is stored within the network infrastructure, and the client works only with a secure MCP token.
