In Volyn, a Megogo programmer was tried for trying to cross the border with fake documents. What does the capital's Holosiivskyi CCC have to do with this?
On April 16, the Lyuboml District Court of the Volyn region considered the case of a Kyiv programmer from Megogo LLC, who tried to pass border control at the Yagodyn checkpoint on March 5 at 3:20 p.m. using documents that were knowingly forged in his name.
On April 16, the Lyuboml District Court of the Volyn region considered the case of a Kyiv programmer from Megogo LLC, who tried to pass border control at the Yagodyn checkpoint on March 5 at 3:20 p.m. using documents that were knowingly forged in his name.
In particular, the programmer presented a fake temporary certificate of a person liable for military service with stamps ‘Enrolled in the military register of persons liable for military service’ and ‘Removed from the military register of persons liable for military service’ and a forged signature of the head of the institution indicated in the certificate, as well as a certificate of the military medical commission No. 700 dated 21 January 2023 with false information about the IT specialist’s unfitness for military service with exclusion from military registration, certified by the stamps of the Holosiivskyi TCS and forged signatures of the chairman and secretary of the military medical commission.
The programmer fully admitted his guilt in committing the offense, informing the court that he really intended to cross the state border of Ukraine and provided forged military documents to the Yagodyn Military District.
After the check, it turned out that the man is not and has not been registered with the Holosiivskyi TCS, he did not receive a temporary military conscript certificate, as well as a MMC certificate. It was found that the programmer is not registered with any TCS at all.
The court found the IT specialist guilty of forging documents and using them and sentenced him to 1 year of imprisonment. It was decided that the defendant’s sentence would begin from the moment the sentence was enforced.
The IT worker must also pay the state UAH 7,572.80 in court costs for conducting forensic technical examinations of documents.
The verdict becomes final after the deadline for filing an appeal has expired, if no such appeal has been filed.
The verdict can be appealed to the Volyn Court of Appeal within 30 days from the date of its pronouncement through the Lyuboml District Court.
