Meta announced the appointment of former Trump advisor Dina Powell McCormick as president and vice chairman of the board. She will help lead and execute the company's overall strategy.
“Dina’s experience at the highest levels of global finance, combined with her deep connections around the world, makes her uniquely suited to help Meta lead this next phase of growth as president and vice chairman of the company,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote in a blog post.
Before joining Meta, Powell McCormick served as Deputy National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump, TechCrunch reports .
Trump welcomed the news with a post on Truth Social: "Congratulations to DEAN POWELL McCORMICK, JUST APPOINTED NEW PRESIDENT OF META. Great choice Mark T!!! She is a fantastic and very talented person who has served the Trump Administration with strength and honor."
Powell McCormick previously worked under Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during the George W. Bush administration. She also spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs as a managing partner.
Last week, Meta hired Curtis Joseph Mahoney, a former Microsoft chief legal officer who also served as deputy U.S. trade representative during Trump's first term.
