Ukrainian sapper develops cumulative demining method that saves explosives

The sapper «Lesnyk», who before mobilization was engaged in engineering in the wood processing sector, created the «Spalakh» demining system, which neutralizes unexploded ordnance. How it works.
According to Suspilne, the system destroys explosive objects using a cumulative method. It emerged «thanks to trips abroad and training with foreign military personnel, as well as old information from Soviet books» and helps destroy or neutralize or burn out ammunition with a small amount of explosives.
«For example, we have about 500 grams of plastid. On average, we spend 30 grams per system to destroy ammunition. With one Soviet 200-gram TNT bomb, I can destroy, for example, a PMN-1, PMN-2 or PMN-4 anti-personnel mine. With a cumulative, I can also destroy a mine: only 15 grams will be enough,» said «Lesnyk».

The military calls this method the universal modular cumulative system «Spalakh» and «Spalakh +». The explosive is placed in a 3D-printed case, to which the legs are attached. The military says that he has seen similar devices during exercises abroad, but it took about a year to recreate such a system.
Currently, «Spalakh» is manufactured by a private company. The cumulative system has passed state testing and is used in the Defense Forces. The cost of a set of 10 cases is 5,500 UAH. The company can produce up to 10,000 products per month.
In March, the Ministry of Defense officially introduced the specialty of UAV operators, who will perform aerial reconnaissance and explosive detection tasks.
In Ukraine, 138,500 sq. km are covered in landmines. How the American company Safe Pro Group and its AI, which has already recognized over 1 million images, will help in demining
A new remotely controlled demining machine has been developed in the Donetsk region. It can demine up to 5 hectares per day and can withstand an anti-tank mine.
