Microsoft 365 will allow administrators to manage artificial intelligence agents, and according to the latest Microsoft 365 Roadmap entry, the new capability is coming soon.
In its announcement, the tech giant announced new capabilities for AI administrators that will be available in June, writes Windows Report.
AI administrators are responsible for establishing and managing connections that allow Copilot to index and take actions on data stored in the Microsoft Graph (the data platform for Microsoft 365). This ensures that AI has access to the data it needs to perform effectively.
Administrators control which users, called “creators,” can create Copilot connections. This helps maintain control over who can create these connections, ensuring compliance and security.
Administrators can define and manage the data sources used in Copilot connections, ensuring that the AI is using appropriate and permitted data for its operations.
Administrators monitor all Copilot connections, allowing them to monitor activity, ensure proper functionality, and resolve any issues that arise.
Administrators can review and approve or reject agents (bots or automated tools) based on their suitability and compliance with organizational policies.
Administrators can pre-install agents for users in their organization without requiring individual consent, simplifying deployment and ensuring users have access to the tools they need.
Administrators can access and manage these agents from the Integrated Apps page in the Microsoft 365 admin center, making it easier to oversee their deployment and usage.
“As an AI administrator, you manage agents with various capabilities, including creating and monitoring Copilot connections that index data in the Graph and perform actions, controlling which producers can create these connections, regulating the data sources used, maintaining visibility across all connections, approving or disallowing agents, pre-installing them without asking for consent, and viewing them on the Integrated Apps page in the Microsoft 365 admin center,” the Microsoft 365 Roadmap states .
