«The main principle is that the technological capabilities of our defense must preserve the lives of our soldiers. Russia has one significant advantage in this war, namely the ability to exert pressure on Ukraine with the scale of strikes, the scale of assaults. We have and must respond with more active use of technology, faster development of new types of weapons, new tactics,» Zelenskyy said.
He previously said that Fedorov could become the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the Ministry of Digital Affairs is an active source of innovation for the defense sector of Ukraine. He added that Russia is not showing any signs of ending the war, so Ukraine must respond technologically and transform the defense sector.
«We discussed the formats of changes that Mykhailo Fedorov is preparing to implement as Minister of Defense of Ukraine. In a week, Mykhailo will present draft decisions that are needed. I expect that the parliament will support such strengthening,» Zelensky said.
The President said that Fedorov reported on technological solutions that are already working on the front. In particular, in December 2025, 35,000 destroyed occupiers were verified and confirmed on video, compared to 26,000 casualties in October. According to Zelensky, this is an indicator that the technologies are working effectively.
