This was reported by a specialist in the field of radio technology, military and engineer Serhiy «Flash» Bezkrestnov in an interview with Times of Ukraine.
«It’s no secret that the issue of possibly disabling data transmission along the Shahed flight path is currently being discussed in order to completely deprive them of any communication capabilities. The Russians are doing the same with respect to Ukrainian deep strike drones,» said Sergey «Flash» Bezkrestnov.
According to him, Ukraine did not do this because the state cares about its citizens.
«We understand that many people use mobile communications to provide infrastructure, including critical infrastructure, as well as the military. Therefore, we would like to turn off communications as a last resort, but if necessary, we will do so,» he added.
Serhiy «Flash» also noted that 80% of UAVs attacking Ukraine are «deceptions» to put psychological pressure on the civilian population and overload Ukrainian air defenses.
This week, The Economist published an article stating that the new «Shaheeds» are now not jammed by electronic warfare, but fly via Telegram and Ukrainian mobile operators.
This article was criticized by Sergey «Flash» Bezkrestnov, who stated that the «shaheeds», as before, fly based on satellite navigation signals, and do not use Telegram for flights. «It is a great pity that an authoritative publication writes incorrect information,» he wrote.
