The Ministry of Defense codified and approved for operation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine the remotely controlled combat module «Predator» from the Ukrainian manufacturer NRK «Lyut».
The Ministry of Defense noted that the Predator combat module can be used both stationary and on a mobile platform, and its 7.62 mm machine guns can be equipped with Soviet-style or NATO-standard ammunition.
«The remotely controlled module can fire at close combat ranges. It can accompany and fire in different planes: at targets on the ground or in the air. The stabilization of the platform allows for accurate fire even while moving,» the ministry notes.
Last fall, the publication «Militarnyi» reported that the «Predator» module was created by the company that develops ground robotic complexes «Lyut». In the spring of 2025, these NRCs were also codified by the Ministry of Defense. And already on July 14, the Main Intelligence Directorate showed footage of the use of «Lyut» with a PKT machine gun against the occupiers in the Sumy region.
The Predator combat module is armed with a 7.62 caliber PKT machine gun and is capable of rotating 360 degrees horizontally and elevating up to 75 degrees vertically. It is noted that the module can be equipped with an AI system that allows it to automatically recognize targets and track them. This makes it possible to shoot down FPV drones at close range.
In particular, this applies to automatic drone recognition, which allows this combat module to be used to shoot down drones, in particular FPV, at close range from 50 to 220 meters.
