Yaroslav Azhnyuk, co-founder of Ukrainian IT company Petcube and head of miltech startups TheFourthLaw and Odd Systems, believes that autonomy modules will soon be installed on most drones.
Azhnyuk reported this on his LinkedIn, where he reported on the delivery of drones with «last mile autonomy» «Lupynis-10-TFL-1» to the soldiers of the 88th separate battalion of the Marine Corps.
«From what we see from the fields, the TFL-1 module increases the efficiency of classic FPV by 2-3 times, while increasing its cost by only 10-20%. I think autonomy modules will soon be on most boards», — said Yaroslav Azhnyuk.
According to him, autonomy modules solve the issues of electronic warfare and radio horizon in the last hundreds of meters and significantly strengthen pilots, especially in difficult conditions and against moving targets. Such modules are being developed by Azhnyuk’s startup TheFourthLaw, named after the works of science fiction writer Isaac Asimov.
As previously mentioned, TheFourthLaw created the B1 autonomy module, designed for use in conditions where the operator can fly to the target in radio-controlled mode. It was used on the Stus-7 and Lupinis-10 UAVs.
The Lupinis-10 drone was created by another of Azhnyuk’s companies, Odd Systems. The UAV is named after Ukrainian dissident and UNA co-founder Anatoly Lupinos. Last summer, the drone hit a rare Russian Terminator tank support vehicle.
