"We're not going to hire any new engineers this year. We're seeing a 30% increase in productivity in the engineering department, and we're going to continue to grow that. And we're going to grow sales pretty dramatically this year," Benioff said, according to TechRadar.
Salesforce’s agent-based AI has become so pervasive that Benioff disputes numerous studies suggesting that AI won’t replace human workers. Instead, he sees a world in which they will work side by side: “We’re the last generation of leaders who are just managing people… You know, I think every leader in the future will be managing people and agents together.”
The company has invested heavily in artificial intelligence not only to improve the efficiency of its customers through agent-based AI, but also to improve the productivity of its employees.
For the quarter ended January 31, 2025, Salesforce reported a significant increase in total revenue of 8% year-over-year to $10.0 billion. Full-year revenue was $37.9 billion, up 9% from last year.
Benioff commented, “No company is better positioned than Salesforce to lead customers through the digital work revolution.”
He added that implementing a “digital labor revolution” is Salesforce’s ambition: “Our goal is to become the No. 1 digital labor provider in the world.”
