Former Minister of Defense and former head of the Ministry of Digital Affairs Mykhailo Fedorov announced a new large-scale technological project — "Army of Robots" during a speech at IT Arena.
According to him, the project team will focus on the development of Physical AI technologies, robotics, and autonomous systems to seize the initiative in the technological cycle of war with Russia.
"Russia will stop only when we can break its backbone and take away all opportunities to finance the war. To do this, we need a new leap, which requires the involvement of Western capital, the best engineers in the world and private initiatives," Mikhail Fedorov emphasized.
The key goal of the "Army of Robots" project, according to Fedorov, is to save the lives of military personnel, automate and transfer the most dangerous tasks (approaching positions, mining, reconnaissance, logistics) to robotic systems.
It is also planned to introduce humanoid robots for basic mechanical tasks — reloading machine guns, replacing batteries, installing sensors, etc.
The project has clear deadlines — to eliminate the first invader with the help of a humanoid robot in 4–6 months.

Within 12 months, it is planned to conduct the first full-fledged combat operation involving robots that will interact with drones via unified communication protocols.
As dev.ua wrote, former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov believes that Ukraine needs its own "Manhattan Project" — but for robots, AI, and fully autonomous warfare systems.
Before that, the former minister announced the launch of a new Defense Tech company with the support of Palantir CEO Alex Karp.
