The head of the Alliance of European Drone Manufacturers calls for a ban on the participation of Russian defense companies in major international exhibitions such as Dubai Airshow and IDEX
The head of the Alliance of European Drone Manufacturers, Kateryna Mikhalko, calls for a review of the policy of admitting Russian defense companies to international arms exhibitions in the United Arab Emirates.
The impetus for this initiative was the Iranian drone attack on Dubai International Airport. There were casualties and the operation of two of the city’s airports was suspended indefinitely.

According to Mikhalko, since 2022, the UAE has continued to allow the Russian defense industry to participate in major international exhibitions, in particular: Dubai Airshow, IDEX, UMEX. She notes that back in January 2026, she saw Russian stands actually next to the Ukrainian zone.
Mikhalko emphasizes that the Russian defense industry actively cooperates with Iran, in particular, financially supporting the production of attack drones, including the Shahed. According to the Financial Times, she says, Russia also supplies Iran with air defense systems and missiles and deepens joint production and technological programs.
«Now these drones have begun to pose a direct threat to the security of the Emirates themselves,» she notes.
Kateryna Mykhalko suggests that the Embassy of Ukraine in the UAE initiate a ban on the participation of Russian companies in future exhibitions, in particular the Dubai Airshow and IDEX 2027, given their partnerships with the Iranian defense industry.
«Security cannot coexist with tolerance for those who initiate war and terror,» she emphasizes.

Контракт на дослідження та розробку для 10 дронів SwitchBlade 600 виробника Aerovironment, очікується протягом наступних 30 днів, заявила прес-секретар Пентагона Джессіка Максвелл в електронному листі до News Defense.
