Well-known volunteer Serhiy Sternenko has joined the team of the new head of the Ministry of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov. According to Fedorov, Sternenko will serve as an advisor on increasing the use of drones for the front line.
"From now on, Serhiy will be my advisor on increasing the use of UAVs at the front. His experience will help us realize a shared vision of increasing the effectiveness of unmanned units," the Minister of Defense wrote .
"My vision for the development of unmanned technologies and our defense in general almost completely coincides with the minister's vision, so I am ready to help implement his strategy," Sternenko commented on his appointment.
The Ministry of Defense has several important tracks regarding drone issues. Sternenko will directly deal with the analytics and effectiveness of drones. As Fedorov noted, currently only 50 units out of 400 provide about 70% of all enemy strikes.
"I am confident that together we will be able to realize everything we have planned, help each crew grow and reach a new level," said Fedorov.
Among other priorities is the basic provision of drone units. The Ministry of Defense plans to systematize so that the military can receive effective weapons here and now.
The Sternenko Community Charitable Foundation was founded a year ago, before that Sternenko was involved in collecting funds for the purchase of drones for the army as an individual and transferred 145,000 fpv drones to the Defense Forces. As of January 22, 2015, this figure had reached almost 256,000 drones of various types, which helped destroy almost 7,000 air targets.
