An unemployed 36-year-old man and his 28-year-old roommate were recruited by the enemy via Telegram. They were offered $30 for illegally registering each Starlink terminal.
To "earn" more, the criminals planned to recruit accomplices, in particular, local drug addicts, to "go to the ASN".

"SBU officers acted proactively and detained both recruits. During the searches, mobile phones with evidence of working for the enemy were seized from them. Among other things, correspondence with Russian curators, instructions on the mechanism for legalizing equipment, as well as agreement on methods of receiving rewards were documented on the electronic devices of the suspects," the SBU said in a statement.
The perpetrators face life imprisonment for high treason. Currently, both defendants are being held in custody as a preventive measure.
We would like to remind you that after confirmed cases of hostile attacks by Starlink UAVs on civilian objects appeared, the Ministry of Defense contacted SpaceX and suggested ways to address this issue. The company responded and began taking steps to address the limitation.
Then the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on mandatory verification of all Starlink terminals operating in Ukraine. After that, the Russians began looking for Ukrainians who were ready to register Starlink terminals for money, and then transfer them to the enemy.
A Ukrainian hacktivist team decided to take advantage of this, conducting an operation to detect so-called “drops.” As a result, they managed to obtain thousands of data packets, enemy positions, and information about several dozen traitors.
