Salesforce, the American company that develops the CRM system of the same name, is ready to acquire its competitor Informatica for approximately $8 billion.
According to Bloomberg, Informatica shareholders will receive $25 per share, and Salesforce expects to complete the deal in early fiscal 2027.
The publication reminds that Informatica has long been a potential target for acquisition by Salesforce, as it is a direct competitor to MuleSoft (owned by Salesforce).
Previously, about a year ago, the companies had already held negotiations about the purchase, but then were unable to agree on terms.
«Our acquisition strategy is methodical, patient, and decisive. This acquisition will be a key enabler for Salesforce’s next phase of AI-driven growth. We are rapidly integrating the capabilities of both companies,» said Robin Washington, president and chief operating officer and financial officer of Salesforce.
The publication also reminds that this deal is one of Salesforce’s largest acquisitions in history and may have strategic significance.
