NABU investigates drone procurement: contracts of six companies, including Fire Point, are being checked

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) is investigating possible price inflating for the purchase of drones for the Ministry of Defense. The investigation is examining six Ukrainian manufacturing companies.

This became known from the official response of NABU to the lawyer's request of Denis Shkarovsky, who acts in the interests of the Fire Point company. The document was published on X by the company's co-owner Denis Shtilerman.

According to the department's materials, detectives are checking the version of a possible conspiracy between officials of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Strategic Industry, the State Service for Special Communications and other authorities with representatives of private business. The investigation suggests that during the conclusion and execution of state contracts for the purchase of unmanned systems, in particular within the framework of the relevant Cabinet Resolution No. 256, the cost of materials and components was artificially inflated. According to law enforcement officers, such actions could have led to the illegal appropriation of budget funds.

Currently, as part of the proceedings, anti-corruption authorities are studying the facts of possible price gouging by six domestic manufacturing companies, as well as the level of awareness of state officials about these processes. Among other things, detectives are investigating the circumstances of the conclusion and execution of contracts with Fire Point LLC for the period from August 2023 to November 2024.

At the same time, the National Bureau emphasized that as of Wednesday, May 14, 2026, none of the managers or founders of Fire Point LLC had been notified of the suspicion, and no indictment had been drawn up in the case. According to the norms of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, until the official announcement of suspicion, a pre-trial investigation is conducted into the fact of the commission of an offense, and not against specific individuals. In addition, the NABU did not enter information into the ERDR regarding Fire Point as a legal entity to which criminal legal measures may be applied.

The department also noted that more detailed data from the pre-trial investigation are a secret of the investigation and are not subject to disclosure, as this may harm the criminal proceedings. Separately, NABU added that the assessment of risks that may negatively affect the company's cooperation with foreign suppliers or partners due to this investigation is not within the legal powers of the bureau. Currently, investigative actions under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office are ongoing.

"We thank NABU very much for the timely and meaningful response. We continue to be ready to fully cooperate with real anti-corruption authorities. We also ask the local branches of FBK and other scoundrels not to interfere with us in continuing to carry out our work to destroy the Russian empire," Fire Point co-owner Denis Shtilerman commented on NABU's response.
