This model has significantly lower latency and can produce images in just four seconds. According to Google, this makes it a great choice for those who need to quickly test ideas and generate large amounts of visual content in a row. The cost is $0.034 per 1,000 images, so the model is quite affordable for improving content — from drafts to final versions, writes TechCrunch.
According to Google, while the Nano Banana 2 model is considered a "universal workhorse," the Banana 2 Lite is optimized for large-scale workflows that require high speed.
The Nano Banana 2 Lite is now available through Google AI Studio and Gemini API, as well as on Google’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. The company says it will replace the first version of the Nano Banana, which Google recently officially classified as its “legacy model.”
Google also announced a larger launch of the Gemini Omni Flash model, which was first introduced at Google I/O earlier this year. The cost of generating video using Flash is $0.10 per second of finished video. The company also showed off a new demo application called Omni Product Studio. According to the developers, it can take static images created by the Omni model and turn them into “cinematic videos for e-commerce.”
“Generative media creation is often a creative endeavor and constant refinement,” the company said in a blog post. “With these two models, developers can create comprehensive, end-to-end multimedia solutions that combine lightning-fast image generation with video creation and editing.”
