According to information provided by Yaroslav Zheleznyak, another possible co-owner of Fire Point is Igor Khmelyov. He was called "Shmel" on the "Mindich tapes." Zheleznyak says that Khmelyov has been associated with Mindich for decades.
Zheleznyak noted that the business of Timur Mindich's wife, Kateryna Verber, which specializes in selling branded clothing, is registered specifically to Igor Khmelov. Although Mindich's wife has repeatedly said publicly that she is the owner of this company, open registers indicate that the legal owner of all Kyiv boutiques is Igor Khmelov within the Cameron Group.
The tapes, as Zheleznyak notes, contain a conversation about Fire Point, where it is mentioned that a person, probably Fursenko, is already a “Fire Point employee.” The recordings also include “Shmel,” to whom they were going to transfer a certain amount of money.
There was also talk of a “fifty-dollar” sum that “Timur” would take. In another conversation, it is mentioned that the bulk of the money (about a million) could have gone to “Shmel”.
Zheleznyak clarified that the official owner of Fire Point in the registers is Yegor Skaliga. He is a childhood friend of another co-owner and engineer, Denis Shtilerman, who was called "Electronic" on the tapes.
