Earlier, the Scroll publication, citing tax consultant Oleksandr Zaraysky, reported that from June 1, individuals will be able to receive no more than 5 transfers per month through the NovaPay payment service for an amount not exceeding UAH 30,000. If the amount or transfers exceed this amount, NovaPay may request an explanation from the recipient regarding the origin of the funds. Other media claimed that this refers to 5 parcels per month with cash on delivery.
«Nova Poshta does not limit the number of parcels sent or received. Our goal is to create conditions for easy use of services without obstacles and additional questions for those who trade. But in the conditions of increasing state control of business activities, we are forced to introduce new procedures and rules,» the company explained.
Novaya Poshta explained that the state requires financial services or banks to check clients for risk criteria and carefully examine all financial transactions for legality, including their goals, nature, and connections.
«If you, as an individual, receive a large number of postpaid payments, then our financial partner, NovaPay, is obliged by the requirements of the Law of Ukraine #361-IX to limit the provision of its financial services until an explanation is received regarding the origin of the money», — Nova Poshta said in a statement.
Users planning to start a business are advised to open an individual entrepreneur. «We are ready to quickly and conveniently conclude contracts for delivery and money transfer services, which will make your work easier. At the same time, we cannot report financial monitoring indicators, as this violates the legislation in this area», — the press service of the National Police added in a comment to dev.ua.
Recall that at the end of April, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft law «On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine and Certain Other Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Implementation of International Automatic Exchange of Information on Income Received through Digital Platforms.» If adopted, the law will apply to companies such as OLX, Prom, Rozetka, LUN, Kabanchik.ua, as well as all online taxi services, etc.
